Salvador Dali exhibition There is still time to catch this major exhibition at the Georges Pompidou Centre in Paris: it remains open until Monday 25th March. The great surrealist artist, Salvador Dali (1904-1989) had a huge influence on 20th century art.
This exhibition explores all aspects of the Spanish artist's life. Both the private and public sides of the life of this prolific painter, sculptor and writer are presented here. Many of his most famous works are exhibited, as well as some of his lesser known works, his surrealist films, sketches and drawings, early works and works featuring optical devices. Several video interviews demonstrate the moustachioed painter's love for melodrama and sensation.
An important retrospective, the exhibition serves as an excellent introduction to the painter for young people and students and unveils some fresh perspectives for others.
New retrospective of Salvador Dali at the Pompidou Centre in Paris, over 30 years after the first retrospective dedicated to him in 1979 - 1980.
