The Palace of Fontainebleau was one of the favorite residences of Kings of France, Francis I of France to Napoleon III. The inside of the palace contains the Gallery of Francis I, decorated in an original way with paintings, paneling and stuccos. The ballroom, the big royal reception hall is 300 square meters (359 yd²).
Stop 2
Entirely furnished, Château of Vaux-le-Vicomte is Nicolas Fouquet's masterpiece which inspired the realization of the palace of Versailles. It was built by the best artists of this period: Le Vau and Le Brun for the castle, Le Nôtre for the French garden.
